Wonderful news – I am getting married! So now the conundrum – where to find a wedding worthy gluten free cake? I walked into the first cake shop (Sweet Cakes) I happened by in downtown Kirkland to ask if they knew of anywhere that sold gluten free cakes and their reply was “Why yes, we do!”
They told me they use a blend of tapioca, rice and potato flours (and I imagine A LOT of butter!) to make a variety of wheat free cake choices (red devil’s food, chocolate, and many more). We got their maple walnut cake to serve at our engagement party and no one even noticed a difference. These cakes can be custom-decorated and there are also cupcakes to devour immediately in the store too.
